Emergency plan for Enköping

o    Tasks all the individuals need to take to be ready

Everyone need to get prepared for the big crisis here in Enköping. Everyone need to cut down on their electricity and oil consumtion. And to make everything work everyone needs to cooperate and trying to make the best out of the sitation. We must realize that we live in the present.

o    A list of potential problems that their area might face, and specific issues these problems may cause

And when the oil runs out the transport will be a big problem so everyone need to be able to work at home or atleast nearby Enköping. Also try to create a schedule or something like that, so you can carpooling, to reduce gasoline consumption and to save money. Food will also be a big problem, so we need to have as many farmers as possible and utilize as much land as possible. And the daily food aint the only problem, the city need to obtain as much food as possible for the winter.

o    Basic needs and amenities that would be affected by potential problems.
Once again to the electricity and oil consumtion, this need to be reduced big time. And when the food is a problem we need to stop our snacking. Many people need to give up their jobs and hobbies because of the travel problem. That we think is tragic, is that it affects those who are young or not born yet. them will not be able to have the same hobbies that their parents had when they were young.

o    A list of responsibilities of local offices and groups.
The  residents of Enköping will need to start a number of groups to get society to function. The most important groups will be food and transportation group. Those will in part be related, beacuse one of the major problem will be to transport the food that farmers grow. It's up to those two groups to organize so that works.

World without oil

When the peak oil crisis has ended, we wont be able to go back to our normal lives. And its not realistic to travel back and forth to work later on when the gasoline fuel has ran out. All the transports worldwide will end aswell when the trucks, planes and boats are out service. This will cause big troubles so both you and the rest of the world need to work international.

People want to go back to the point before the oil crisis when everyday life was more comfortable. They didnt need to grow food and such on their own.

Nothing in the near future will be able to replace the oil as the fuel. Our idea is to replace the cars with bicycles and other none-fuel vehicles. And live in smaller areas.

We dont think the ethanol is a good solution. It cant replace the gasoline, because at the moment there are to few cars driven by ethanol and its expensive to produce new cars for everyone. And Ethanol is made of corn and we wont be able to grow enough much to support the people.

Map Information

I have made a map that many people from my town can use. If you for example need tools you can go and rent it for cash. There are some travel spots that is good to know about if you want to car-pool or something like that. And sadly the big sport arenas have evolved into farmer places which is highly protected by barbed-wire fences. The local hospital is good to know where it is located.

This is the map.

Here's an map over our town

We don't have to steal..

Week 26

For this week I’ve begun to wonder about future energy problems, for example electricity, to not be addicted to the electricity company. So I’ve also been searching on the net for information, facts and benefits about wind turbines which produces electricity. I know that if I would decide to build me an own wind turbine I would have to find a good spot in an area close to the house to place it at. It would just be a small one that just could be able to produce energy for my own house or even less. As I mentioned last week my father has now got a job as a farmer not far from home, and he is even going to get pretty well paid since there is a big request on the farmer’s products and the farmer is making a lot of money.   Over and out.

working times..

My dad's job

Week 25
I'm not sure if I told you this before but I live in the suburbs. 14 miles to the nearest town. My mom works here at a small hospital and my dad works in Stockholm. My mom can cykle or walk to her job but my dad commutes with his car to his work every day. Something that costs a lot of money.
My mom and dad argue a lot about this since it is a major problem because much of our income goes to his petrol. They have concluded that he must get a job here in the suburb.
One of my dad's friend owns a farm. Farmers know that now when it's crisis they can make a lot of money, all they need is workers. This is a great job for my dad who is strong and likes the nature. But he is skeptical, he have worked at his current job in 11 years and been promoted a few times. And it is a well-paid job.
I do not think he has a choice because so much money is wasted on petrol and people need to shape themselves according to their needs.
So he will start working on monday next week as a farmer here in our suburb. To be honest i like the thought that he is in here everyday, only a few minuts away, i think it will make me feel a bit safer.

A comic about the gas stations.

Truth and friendship

Again, I noticed something sad, I hope you have understood from previous posts that I am a positive person. But this really made me sad. I'll take it from the beginning, I did an errand for my mom to the store to buy milk. Once I was there (for the first time in years), I was shocked, many of the shelves were empty and only basic goods remained. From being a crowded store with everything imaginable to a barely half-full store with only a few customers. Despite being shocked, I went  to get the milk my mother asked me to buy and then went on to checkout and pay.
Previously, this shop was full of customers and up to ten counters were open at the same time, now only two were open. I ended up behind a family, second in the queue to pay. I heard a discussion and listened a bit, the mother in the family became red in the face and threw the bank card at the cashier, then turned quickly and went inside to return the goods. They had stoped the card payment, she couldn’t pay. The three children behind her began to cry and run out of the store. I can say one thing, neither the cashier nor this family thought this was fun. I know what’s going to happen with this store, I’m trying to realize the truth and read some blogs to get more information. One site linked this video and I want you all to watch it.

Tips of the week!
Help eachother, that’s what friends do. There is no shame in being broke during this crisis. It´s close to impossible to not be, and if you´re not broke and have loads of money then help your friends, I know they always will be thankful and do whatever they can to pay back as fast as they can.

Reading blogs..

I’m sick today, so what is better than lying under the covers and read different blogs. After a long time I found something I react to. At that blog the healine was “Oil behind the conflicts in Georgia”. He writes that there are many indications that the oil are behind the conflict in Georgia.  And the United States has large interests in the pipeline built to export oil from Azerbaijan to the ports around the Black Sea. When I read that I remember that I don’t have heard something from my cousin when he came back after he worked for the american navy in Iraq. Have to call him right now!

A typical day

WEEK 13

As I mentioned in week 7, I would update some pictures from my backyard project and if you haven’t read about it, here’s my situation: I’ve started to build a greenhouse which will help me to grow vegetables.

I’ve been having some trouble building it alone so I called my friend once so he could help me to place the windows right.

And now back to week 13.
One important thing that I’ve been doing this week is to keep up my connection with all my friends and relatives. I believe that it’s important because if I would just stay for myself, I would just be sad and pissed off at the oil crisis. A TV reporter mentioned that a gas station is no longer taking credit but only cash from people purchasing fuel. The reason of that is probably because people who are broke still needs gas and doesn’t care about their economical situation, they are probably just trying to stay healthy. We must still try to believe in the economy to stay settled up and don’t get affected by the oil, else things can go really wrong. Another oil blog that I can recommend is wwoinc.devote.se I have been following them from the beginning and they are truly good.

Realize it

OIL CRISIS
I don´t know if u have read about this, I don´t even know if you have heard about it yet. But trust me it will hit you, and if your not prepared it will hit hard. You still have the opportunity to make a difference. You still have the opportunity to change lifestyle. I´m not going to tell you have to do this, I will not even tell you TO do it. This is your choise, but believe me, it would be better for you to take stand, it WILL be better to change lifestyle, listen to my words before its tolate. Nowadays it exists two kinds of people, the ones who have realized the crisis and doing everything in their power to avoid the critical hit which will come soon, and then we have the people who totally refuses to believe this. Who are you? Do the right decision.
